I don’t see many Palm pieces out here–that doesn’t mean they’re not pretty good pieces, it just means that I don’t get my hands on one very often. But today, I’ve got just that chance as I tackle the Palm Treo 655, a phone that blends the disappointing with the exciting.
Now,3.5 to rca adapter, you can see what I mean pretty clearly here–I don’t see many phones with that kind of battery life on them. And RealPlayer-specific video is also something of a rarity. The controls are also pretty nice, and the whole thing is well laid out.
The Palm Treo 655 is a candy bar style smartphone that offers a speakerphone,car usb charger, Bluetooth connectivity,blackberry phone cover, mobile email, a .3 megapixel camera with a 2x digital zoom, alarm clock, calendar,best mini dv, messenging capability, notepad, RealPlayer video player, MP3 player,android multi touch, USB port, Secure Digital memory card compatibility, and a battery that will yield six hours of talk time on a single charge.
It’s rare you see so many phones that are so clearly delineated like this–there’s almost as much bad as there is good here. And thus I can’t recommend it in the face of so many incredible phones out there, but if you do decide to go with the Palm Treo 655,serial ata cable, well,m003, you’ll do all right. But at the same time, so much of this “smartphone” really doesn’t seem that smart. There’s no mobile web capability here,micro rc car, no wifi compatibility. The headphone jack isn’t standard size, so you can forget about using your own headphones here without an adapter if you can even find one (I don’t see them very often), the camera is the lowest of the low end, and you can also forget about using the Bluetooth as a wireless modem.
